TSAR Coat/Trench Pocket Sewing Pattern

The TSAR pattern will become the new icon of your wardrobe: a cut slightly supported by princess cutouts, a length above the knee, a beautiful collar that can be assumed, ultra-neat finishes with a well-designed lining. And of course, the Maison Fauve twist: the cutout at the front which takes up the codes of the chic double-breasted with just the right amount of singularity. Because if you won't see TSAR on everyone, it will appear to you like a timeless piece once put on. An emblematic piece of the Ballets Russes collection, the TSAR coat is reminiscent of the nutcracker soldier, or a hussar with its present buttoning and its falsely strict look softened by its slightly fitted cut and its pretty collar.

The pattern has been designed to be sewn both in gabardine with hold for an overcoat/trench look, and with a medium weight wool for a pretty coat that will last you all winter.

Sewing level:

advanced, the model has a lot of parts so requires precision and the technical points are assembling the collar, assembling the lining, making the pockets, and more generally the sewing of a thick fabric.

Supplies :

-2m30 of fabric and 1m70 of lining up to 36

-2m80 of fabric and 1m80 of lining up to 46 -3m20 of fabric and 2m20 of lining from 48 to 52

-11 buttons between 15 and 20 mm

-1 m of thermal adhesive for the facings, the underside of the collar and the bottom of the garment and the bottom of the sleeves (the choice of the type of thermal adhesive depends on the type of fabric but still go for a product which will provide rigidity to your work)

Choice of fabric:

gabardine fabric, medium weight wool cloth, jacquard, velvet with hold. For the lining, use a suitable fabric that is sufficiently slippery for the sleeves.

The boss grades from 34 to 52, for a height of 1m65.
